After-School Youth Dance Programs

We provide after-school ballet classes in churches and community schools in the inner-city for six to ten week intervals. Our goal is always to provide dance training at no cost to the students. Classes involve classical ballet movement and terminology. We provide a setting for young people to be exposed to formal dance training, vocabulary and performance opportunities in order that they will have additional options for their future profession or leisure/extra curricular activity. We believe that expose equals options!

Great Minds Book Clubs

Treasure Arts literacy Initiative works to organize reading/ book clubs for all ages. We provide literacy support for the beginning reader up to and including remediation for those preparing to graduate high school. Book clubs are a way to encourage reading as a pleasurable recreational past-time and not just a chore. We organize book clubs in various parts of the city of Birmingham. We are always in need of donations of multiple copies of books for use in our book clubs. We welcome every book from big books to picture books to those books on the high school reading lists; new and used.

Performing Arts Clubs

We provide consultation in every area that is needed to stage a musical theater performance in high schools, churches and community organizations. Auditions, casting, directing, dance classes, musical training and direction (choral and soloist), choreography, costumes, make-up, training in technical operations (lights and sound), set designs and props are all a part of what we provide to schools, churches and community groups who wish to stage a performance.

Performing Arts Scholarships

Treasure Arts, Inc works with other community based organizations to seek out and provide scholarship opportunities in the arts for our students. If you know of scholarship opportunities for promising students especially in the arts we would like to talk to you about our students.

Mentors

We work in conjunction with a local parenting consultant, as well as, a local church to provide mentors for students and families.

Field Trips

We sponsor field trips to musical, dance, theater, spoken word performances and art exhibits for students ages 4-18.
